BioBattlers: Turn the Living World into a Game
BioBattlers is a mobile game that transforms the natural world into something you can explore, collect, and engage with simply by stepping outside.
Using your phone, you can scan real plants and insects, unlock their BioBattler forms, and build a collection inspired directly by the living world around you. Walks, gardens, parks, and nature reserves all become part of the experience.
BioBattlers is designed to reward curiosity, exploration, and time outdoors — not more time sitting still.
The Idea
We live alongside an extraordinary diversity of life, yet much of it goes unnoticed. Plants, insects, and small creatures form the foundation of our ecosystems, but in everyday life they are easy to overlook.
BioBattlers was created to change that.
The idea is simple:
encourage people to slow down, look closer, and reconnect with the natural world by turning real life discovery into a game.
Whether you are in your garden, walking through a park, or exploring the countryside, BioBattlers gives you a reason to notice what is growing, crawling, and living around you.
How It Works
Scan Life Outdoors
Use your phone to scan real plants and insects you encounter in the world around you.
Unlock BioBattlers
Each scan reveals a unique BioBattler inspired by the real organism you discovered, which is added to your collection.
Build and Progress
As your collection grows, you build a team, unlock progression features, and advance through the game.
Learn as You Play
Each discovery connects you to real biological information, helping you understand habitats, traits, and the wider natural context of what you’ve found.
Why BioBattlers Exists
Screen time is increasing, while time spent outdoors is shrinking — especially for children.
BioBattlers is built around a simple reversal of that trend:
technology that encourages you to go outside, not retreat from it.
By blending gameplay with real-world exploration, BioBattlers makes nature feel interactive and rewarding again. It gives players a reason to explore their surroundings, ask questions, and keep coming back outside to see what they might find next.
This isn’t about replacing nature with a game — it’s about using a game to bring people back to nature.
Learning Through Discovery
BioBattlers is designed to be fun first, but learning naturally follows.
As players scan and collect, they are exposed to real species, real names, and real biological concepts. Over time, this builds familiarity with plants, insects, and biodiversity in a way that feels organic rather than instructional.
The goal is not to overwhelm with information, but to spark curiosity — and let that curiosity grow.
A Mission Beyond the Game
BioBattlers is built with conservation and education in mind.
As the project develops, we aim to expand educational content around species, habitats, and conservation status, and to explore partnerships with organisations that share our goals of environmental awareness and biodiversity protection.
By encouraging people to notice the living world around them, BioBattlers helps foster a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems we all depend on.
Our Vision
BioBattlers is not just about points, battles, or collections.
The long-term vision is to create a tool that helps people especially younger generations build a lasting relationship with nature.
We imagine families using BioBattlers on walks, children growing up with a natural curiosity for plants and insects, and players developing a deeper respect for the living world through play.
One scan at a time, BioBattlers turns everyday encounters with nature into moments of discovery.
