Anonymous usage and gameplay statistics

This information helps us improve performance, reliability, and user experience.

1.3 Location Data

If you grant permission, we may collect approximate location data (region or county level only) for anonymised in-game map visualisation.

This data:

Is never stored alongside your identity
Does not include precise GPS, household, or address-level information
Is used solely for in-game map and discovery features

You can withdraw location permission at any time through your device settings.

1.4 User Inputs and Image Processing

When using BioBattlers, you may submit content such as photographs or gameplay inputs (“User Inputs”).

When you take or upload a photo:

The image is processed temporarily for identification purposes only
The image is sent securely to a third-party image recognition service
BioBattlers does not store, retain, or archive user-submitted photos after identification is completed

By submitting User Inputs, you confirm that:

You have the right to share the content, and
The content does not include personal information or infringe the rights of others

BioBattlers uses automated systems, including third-party APIs, to generate in-game creatures, statistics, and artwork based on identification results.

All generated in-game creatures, artwork, and statistics are part of the BioBattlers game universe and are owned by BioBattlers Ltd.

Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and interact with this content solely within the App.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

Operate and maintain the App
Enable gameplay features such as collections and maps
Manage user accounts and progress
Improve performance, stability, and security
Fix bugs and analyse anonymous usage trends

We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

To provide BioBattlers securely and reliably, we use trusted third-party services:

Firebase (Google) – Authentication, cloud database, analytics, and crash reporting
Amazon Web Services (AWS S3) – Secure hosting of game assets and monster images
Kindwise API – Environmental image recognition
- Photos are processed temporarily for identification
- Images are not retained or associated with user identities
- Only identification results (e.g. species name) are returned
OpenAI – Generation of creative text and illustrative assets using species names only (no photos or personal data)
Google Maps Platform – Display of regional map views and global discoveries

All third-party providers operate under GDPR-compliant data protection agreements and process data solely on our behalf.

4. Information Sharing

We may share limited information only when necessary:

To comply with legal obligations or lawful requests
To enforce our Terms of Service
To protect the rights, safety, or property of users or BioBattlers
With trusted service providers supporting App functionality

We do not share personal information with advertisers or external marketers.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our Services.

If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed from our systems.

Aggregated, anonymised gameplay statistics and in-game creature data may be retained for internal analysis and game continuity.

BioBattlers is designed to be family-friendly and educational (recommended age 9+).

BioBattlers does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information may contact us to request deletion.
